REVOLUTIONARY FILTER REMOVES 100% OF OIL & FUEL FROM BILGE WATER

Protecting the marine environment is not only a good idea—it makes good financial sense.  Why?  Boaters who discharge oily bilge water into a waterway can be fined up to $5,000 per day, even for a small discharge that only results in a light sheen on the surface.

Centek Industries now offers an innovative way to protect the environment and avoid such fines—the BilgeKleen filtration system.  Using a filter and housing that easily install in the bilge pump discharge line, this unique system removes 100% of oil, gas, diesel and other petroleum products before the bilge water is released overboard.

The BilgeKleen filter is infused with revolutionary, patented MYCELX technology, which reduces the level of hydrocarbons to less than one part per billion in a single pass.  This figure is well below the allowable limit of 15 parts per million established by the EPA.  It also represents an unprecedented level of pollution reduction for an onboard filter system.

MYCLEX is a non-toxic polymer technology developed by research chemist Hal Alper after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989.  After years of refinements and successes in the oil spill remediation and wastewater treatment fields, MYCELX is now available to the marine industry.

Unlike most traditional absorbents, MYCELX bonds tightly with pollutants and will not release them, even if they are emulsified.  MYCELX-  infused filters will not absorb water or produce any significant back-pressure that could inhibit the performance of the bilge pump.

The BilgeKleen system also includes a MYCELX-infused Smartpad, which is placed in the bilge sump area to capture many contaminants even before they reach the filter.  This combination of MYCELX products provides an extremely effective, two-part, pollutant capture system.

The popular BilgeKleen BK-1 model handles up to 1,200-gph pumps and features adapters for 3/4", 7/8" and 1-1/8" discharge lines.  The BK-2 and BK-3 each handle up to 4,000-gph pumps and accommodate 1-1/2" discharge lines.  Other models are available for the complete range of bilge pumps, up to those that move 19,800 gph.

The BK-1 filter housing is 12-5/8" tall x 5-1/2" in diameter and weighs just 2.65 pounds.  The BK-2 and BK-3 measure 13-1/2" tall x       7-1/2" in diameter and 24-1/4" tall x 7-1/2" in diameter respectively.

Centek Industries also offers a Boater Emergency Spill Kit, Watermaker Protection System and other products that take advantage of revolutionary MYCELX technology.  Centek is the exclusive provider of MYCELX environmental products to boatbuilders and marine distributors.

Suggested retail price of the BilgeKleen BK-1 is $196.  Replacement filters are available for as little as $52.75 each.
