TOURNAMENT FISHERMAN SWEARS BY CELLTEC BATTERY MONITOR
When dealing with environmental variables like high winds and swift currents, tournament fisherman Larry Gaines of Valparaiso, Florida, says there's no telling what might happen to his boat's battery once he's underway. The best insurance policy an angler can carry, he maintains, is the MoniTroll Battery Monitoring System designed and manufactured by CellTec Industries.

Below the LCD displaying hours and minutes remaining is a row of lights that glow green when all systems are fully functioning. When red, they warn of trouble in up to three battery systems simultaneously.
The lights will pulse red approximately one hour before a battery system reaches depletion, and an audio monitor will sound at intervals in case the captain fails to notice the visual indicator. When the battery is finally dead, the lights glow a constant red.
Fishermen can select the correct battery capacity on MoniTroll's master enabler switch, which is mounted in or near the battery compartment and relays information to the LCD via a data line. When the trolling motor is in use, voltages and time remaining readings adjust to the draw on the batteries.
No other battery monitoring product even compares to the MoniTroll, according to Gaines. "I can honestly say I don't know where this system has been all these years. But now that I'm aware of it, I won't own or operate another tournament boat without CellTec's products installed," he said.

Designed
to indicate deficiencies in the vessel's electrical system
and warn the angler of failure before it happens, CellTec's
MoniTroll-36V features an internal microcontroller that
reacts to variable power use and calculates the voltage
level of each battery on board. The voltage level and total
productive time left per battery is then displayed in hours
and minutes on an LCD, which can be mounted at the helm or
elsewhere on the boat.
