Because of the harsh environment of the bilge, a mechanical pump
activator may become fouled, allowing water to rise to a dangerous
level. To ensure the safety of the boat and crew, Johnson Pump now
offers its new Bilge Alert high water alarm.
The Bilge Alert's sealed electronics features field effect technology-a
dual, micro-electric field projected by a Mirus detector cell. When it
detects the presence of water, a 100-db piezo alarm and an LED light are
activated, letting the skipper know the bilge pump should be doing its
job. The detector measures 1.04" wide x 2.5" long x .2"
high, and allows for a flexible, one-screw installation.
The panel
is 1.97" high x 2.47" wide and includes a unique 3-way switch
that allows the piezo to be
disengaged, while the LED stays lit, until the high water condition is
alleviated. The Bilge Alert has no moving parts, uses no mercury, is
completely corrosion proof and operates on 12VDC. Its passive
power usage is just 16 micro amps.
Suggested retail price of the Johnson Pump Bilge Alert is $59.95.
